Responsibilities

• To be the in-charge of the hospital laboratory to manage the day-to-day operations;
• To plan, lead, manage and co-ordinate all laboratory activities, including supplies and inventory management;
• To establish and maintain clinical and service guidelines and standards;
• To advise on the choices of appropriate tests and interpretation of results;
• To monitor and improve the work process, where appropriate;
• To maintain effective communications with hospital colleagues, as well as external clients such as other medical centres and laboratories;
• To manage and monitor the applications of new technologies, where appropriate;
• To act as the Quality Controller, Document Controller, and Safety Officer in the laboratory;
• To monitor and optimize the departmental finance;
• To participate into and lead the establishment of quality assurance and audit system and tools to ensure a safe and effective service;
• To comply with the accreditation requirements of the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS);
• To act as the “Laboratory Director” for the purpose of the accreditation by HOKLAS in the hospital; and
• Other duties as assigned by the hospital management as and when required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in medical sciences or related subjects and obtaining a qualification by examination in medical sciences or related subjects accepted by the Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Board for registration as Part I technologists;
• A minimal of eight years of relevant medical testing experience, three of which shall be at a supervisory level;
• Part I Registration of Medical Laboratory Technologist with a valid practicing certificate issued by the HKMLT Board;
• Experience in Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) may be an advantage;
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the hospital management;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning – To advise the hospital management on competitive marketing strategies and plans, both online and offline, to enhance hospital business and brand awareness.
• Corporate marketing – To promote hospital services to corporations such as insurance companies, medical centers, and clinics.

Requirements
